Hover on water with Flyboard Malaysia

Share this:

The Flyboard is the newest extreme sport! It is an accessory that attaches to a PWC (Personal Watercraft) which gives the Flyboard propulsion through air and water. The propulsion is routed through the primary nozzle that attaches to the feet of the Flyboard user.

Despite its intuitive use, the Flyboard is nonetheless an extreme sports gear to practice with great vigilance. Where Can You Flyboard In Malaysia? In Malaysia, it is now available exclusively thru Flyboard Malaysia, which operates at Marina Putrajaya on weekends. Private, Group and Corporate bookings are also available by appointment.

What Is Flyboarding Like ?

Don’t be fooled by the video on your right, flyboarding is no easy feat. It took our host about 15 minutes before she managed to hover for a whole 6 SECONDS.

How Do Flyboards Work ?

Science aside, all you need for your flyboarding experience is a Jet ski, a huge hose and a flyboard. Let’s not forget that you need excellent guidance too, you can count on Raja Aris Dzulkifli for that though.

The mechanism is simple. Huge amounts of water gets sucked into the jetski which is pumped into the flyboard. The high pressure water is then expelled through the nozzles of the flyboard which creates a lift that helps you hover on water.

Who wouldn’t want to be Iron-man ?

I don’t know anyone who’d turn down being Iron-man for a whole day. But, there is a significant learning curve when it comes to flyboarding. Like many other things in life, you only can master flyboarding with a thorough sense of balance. In this case, balance between your heel and your toes.

With Balance Comes Lift

It sounds weird doesn’t it? If you watch our video closely, you’ll see exactly what I mean. The hardest part of Flyboarding is actually coming out of the water. Only when you master the art of sustaining a “lift” will you be able to begin to enjoy  the entire flyboarding experience.

Are you ready to pay Flyboard Malaysia a visit?

Here are a few tips that may come in handy.

Trulyasia.TV's Tips

  • Clear your mind.

Don’t overthink or be too self conscious. Everyone falls and fails the first few times. Only if you persevere and be a good sport about the entire learning process will you be able to reap the benefits.

  • Listen to the safety briefing carefully

The safety briefing is one of the most important parts of the whole Flyboarding experiemce. Everyone wants to have fun but like all other extreme sports, there are risks that are involved.

  • Goggles are allowed

If you have sensitive eyes or if you wear contact lenses, you are allowed to wear goggles during your Flyboarding experience. Eyeglasses on the other hand are not allowed. So to all our four eyed friends, it’ll be best to pick up a pair of contact lenses.

  • Don’t be afraid

Your flying instructor will be by your side throughout the entire process so you don’t have to worry about being petrified during your flying process. You are totally in control of how high you choose to hover or fly above the water. If you ever feel uncomfortable or if you need a break, just inform your flying instructor and they’ll be glad to help

Daniella’s Verdict

"Flyboarding is a challenging process but Aris is a very gentle and understanding instructor. He was never pushy and he follows your rhythm. All of which is extremely important when you’re trying something like Flyboarding for the first time."
